Overall, the Dakine Fall Line Roller double ski bag with wheels is a great ski carrier. The Dakine Fall Line ski bag fits two pairs of skis, ski boots and has enough room to pad skis with clothes. Could also fit a helmet in as well. The bag weighs less than 7 lbs ,so you should be able to pack all your ski gear in the bag and stay under 50lbs. I wouldn't recommend a hard case (even though they may protect your skis, hard cases weigh more and will hold less gear.
I personally would not put ski boots in the the ski bag (as it would weigh too much) or necessary ski clothes you will need to ski in the next day (in case the bag is lost).
